Job Summary:
AmberSemi is looking for a Senior Field Applications Engineer to act as the technical interface between  external customers, internal product development, and sales teams. This role will specifically be focused  on supporting the company’s design in efforts by demonstrating technical evaluation of our core solutions  and co-defining applications with partners. AmberSemi is developing disruptive power and power  management products for consumer and industrial applications.

Dublin, CA  

Duties/Responsibilities:  

  • This work will involve a combination of lab work with the internal engineering, technology roadmap with product management and design in efforts with sales teams. This knowledge base will be overlaid with end customer requirements, testing expectations, and demonstrating  evaluation on-site at customer facilities. 
  • For partner testing: The in-lab requirements will include working with Amber’s engineering team to understand the exact test set-ups, measurements and why each test is being performed on various demo platforms. This information will then need to be articulated into documentation for  internal and external use to allow for future replication and easy understanding of results in  Amber’s lab and at partner facilities. Furthermore, you will act as the conduit for testing at  partner’s facilities. This will mean traveling with sales, marketing and/or engineering to various  customer facilities and follow a complete replica of what was performed in Amber’s Lab. 
  • Requires in all cases in-depth knowledge of each demo platform and how each test will apply to future product development while adhering to sales strategies. You will need to be in direct communication with customers in their lab, coordinating demos and sending documentation. 
  • For customer integration support: You will work with product management and sales teams to support our partners in bringing end products to market with Amber’s technology integrated. This process will include defining customer product requirements as it relates to Amber’s technologies  as well as validating the technology fit to those requirements. Then you will support internal  

teams and external customers in the qualification, and proto-type development of partner  products integrating Amber’s technologies. 

  • Domestic and International Travel required for partner testing and customer integration.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Skilled hands-on engineer with good lab instrumentation skills
  • Knowledge in electrical circuits, power electronics & power management products
  • Proficient in using a variety of test equipment and electronic laboratory instruments.
  • Experience with microcontrollers, processors and embedded systems is a plus.
  • Experience in a technical applications sales engineer role is a plus.
  • Ability to identify requirements before the customer does.
  • Excellent organizational, communication & technical writing skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Preferable background in semiconductor industry and/or power conversion products Education and Experience:
  • Must have 5+ years of relevant industry experience

AmberSemi is looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to lead the execution of our latest  products, oversee solution marketing, and develop business strategy for our distinctive power products.  Collaborate closely with field and internal application engineers, the sales team, and customers, including  semiconductor partners. Responsibilities encompass strategic contributions to product roadmap planning,  delineating product lines, and promoting and positioning solutions to generate fresh business prospects.  Additionally, engage in market and competitive analysis, devise pricing strategies, project opportunities,  and conduct forecasting. These tasks will be oriented towards an array of disruptive power and power  management products for global consumer and industrial applications.

Job Summary:
AmberSemi is looking for a full time IC Analog Design Engineer to develop disruptive silicon integrated  products using innovative, proprietary high voltage, analog-mixed signal & sensing technologies  This role will involve working on IC architecture feasibility, silicon design, implementation to final  product deployment. 

Location:

Duties/Responsibilities:  

  • Contribute to the IC silicon design, development of analog-mixed signal, digital systems for AC direct power system products
  • Drive the IC top-level architecture definition, design of the analog & digital circuits, subsystems Register Transfer Level (RTL) coding, design, implementation & verification
  • Perform design & simulation for integration of functional units and subsystems into full chip
  • Architecture, design, simulate and verify analog mixed-signal circuits for optimum power/speed/area efficiency  
  • Closely work with SOC system architects to define mixed-signal design specifications
  • Supervise the RTL-to-GDS flow and assist with synthesis and timing closure
  • Drive the chip-level integration, test plan development and verification
  • Work in collaboration with physical design engineers on mixed-signal design chip level planning and integration
  • Closely work with and supervise layout/mask designers by providing annotated schematics, floor plans, layout, reliability and manufacturability design guidelines
  • Support the test program development, chip validation, and product life until production maturity
  • Closely work with product platform architects and packaging team for Power Integrity and Power Distribution Network analysis in mixed-signal design applications  
  • Experience in back-end design verification tools and flows including debugging LVS and DRC issues in collaboration with the layout team
  • Perform early prototyping using FPGAs, power system modeling, algorithms, analysis, verification, and performance optimization

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • IC SOC design experience using Cadence, Synopsys tools, design methodologies, verification flows to tape-out and silicon characterization/testing

Job Summary:
The role involves new product evaluation and bring-up, development of collateral supporting the products  (i.e. application notes, datasheets, white papers).   • Perform system level simulation and analysis of new designs.
  • Interface with IC designers to define, develop and validate features and functions of industry-best power products.
  • Driving the development of power application solutions to optimize converters and systems for broad applications:
  • Designing, simulating, implementing high performance power solutions for broad  applications, such as data center, server, telecom, industrial and automotive applications.  This task requires strong skills in developing power management circuit schematics, PCB  layout and hardware evaluations including efficiency, thermal, ripples, EMI, load  transient, loop gain optimizations. 
  • Developing demo/eval boards for new power products and solutions: 
  • Designing and developing evaluation solutions to evaluate and validate the features and  functions of new power solutions. 
  • Developing reference design boards for specific key customers. 
  • Activities include schematic design, layout design, prototype evaluation with detailed  evaluation reports. 
  • Understand and optimize solution’s electrical, thermal and mechanical performances and  reliability. 
  • Develop design and simulation tools and circuits via LTspice and Simplis simulation  model/circuit for development and validation, LTpowerCAD design tool for modeling  and development. 
  • Supporting field team and customers:
  • Promote current and upcoming products 
  • Get field inputs and new product ideas for world class solutions. 
  • Answer technical questions and help to solve difficult technical problems. Review and  improve customers’ designs. 
  • Provide reference designs and develop custom demo boards. 
  • Provide technical training to the field and customers.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Enjoy analog and power circuit designs, simulations, build and lab testing.
  • Strong background of analog circuit, power electronics and power systems. Strong DC/DC power converter (Buck, Boost, etc) design and optimization experiences and skills. Good knowledge and experience of transformer-based power converters (Flyback,  forward, etc.) 
  • Strong analytical skills. Good knowledge and skills of power converter modeling, control architecture and loop design, static and dynamic performance optimizations.
  • Familiar with circuit design/simulation tools (SPICE/LTspice, Simplis, LTpowerCAD, MathCAD/Matlab, etc) and lab equipment for power applications.
  • Firmware, DPS or FPGA programming and I2C/PMbus experience are a plus.
  • Analog IC design knowledge is a plus.
  • Magnetic design and simulation, thermal analysis knowledge and experience a plus.
  • Good technical writing and presentation skills
  • Must possess good communication skills and have the ability to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team.

Education and Experience: 

  • Must have 5+ years of relevant industry experience switching power converter designs and  optimizations 
  • MSEE or Ph.D. degree in Power Electronics.
