Amber Semi’s Switch Controller Platform is a new family of configurable mixed-signal logic devices designed for deterministic and intelligent control of solid-state and electromechanical switches. The IC combines an array of configurable logic with an analog front end complete with low-latency window comparators making it ideal for time-constraint switching and protection functions in AC or DC circuits. Additional hardware blocks are included to simplify implementation of common safety, protection and load profiling functions.
By offloading microcontrollers and firmware from managing complex interrupt handling and time-constraint operations, Amber’s switch controller improves system performance, reliability, and total cost of ownership.

AMBERSEMI INDUCTIVE LOAD SUPPRESSION DEMO
Successful suppression of 450 – consecutive – inductive load surges over 15 minutes to just 260V each.
The video shows a traditional electro-mechanical switch in circuit breakers creating dangerous arcs and high-voltage inductive load surges of thousands of volts, then demonstrates how Amber’s solid-state solution digitally suppresses every surge event.
